A little about who I am:

This is a small, one-woman operation based in lovely Lake City, Colorado.  You'll notice that my recent projects are centered here, but I am able and willing to travel some distance to work with clients.  And, it is often possible to work long-distance on projects.

I was born and raised in New Hampshire, received my BA, magna cum laude, in Communication Arts at Colby-Sawyer College.  I moved west to Colorado, where I've lived for the past 15 years.

With a background in media theory and criticism, along with hands-on production experience, working in marketing is natural for me.

My parents were antique dealers, so my childhood was filled with a constant stream of fascinating and historic objects (plus a lot of people who told lots of stories).  To this day, my understanding of artifacts, their historic context, and the significance of the everyday people attached to them shapes my work.

Living and working in a rural, tourism-based economy has taught me a lot of useful things about the needs of small (and tiny) businesses and how to help them succeed in a huge, competitive travel industry.

I've created and implemented an honest, ethical tourism marketing campaign for my own community, resulting in record sales tax and lodging tax revenues that have held steady despite a national recession.

A little about who I collaborate with:

I frequently work with graphic designer Delaney Keating of RoShamBo in Gunnison, Colorado.  Like myself, Delaney is self-taught in her line of work, which for both of us is an advantage.  Neither of us thinks like most other people, which means that our clients end up with products that stand out.

We're both slightly fussy about details, and we really like to make a product that is perfectly balanced between form (her department) and content (my department).
That's me in the photo above (I'm in the middle), along with my two canines, Captain Nemo and Rhett Butter.  We all live in the mountains, in the most remote county in the lower 48 states, and we like it that way.  It's a fine combination of living in the wilderness and gettting to meet a wide variety of people who visit the area.
